Teachers are shown at an Abell and Atherton writing workshop as part of professional learning

Professional Learning

As we focus on new beginnings and re-dos in the 2021 school year, one area of continuous growth is professional learning.  While the Kentucky Department of Education requires educators to participate in 24 hours of professional development annually, we believe in the growth mindset that we must never stop learning about instruction and our content areas.

By the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving break, all 24 hours of required professional development should be documented.

Professional development hours should either be part of your school wide professional development plan or your individual professional growth plan.  Once you have completed an approved professional development workshop, please submit your certificate to your PD liasion.

If you are attending a professional development opportunity in the Knox County Public Schools, please use the district’s PD calendar to register.  After attending you will receive an email with reflection questions to submit and your certificate will be generated and sent to you.
