Accessibility and Accommodations

Visitors To Our Schools

The Board encourages parents, professional educators, and others who have legitimate educational interests pertaining to the District’s public school program to visit the schools.

Visitors with disabilities shall be accommodated as required by law. Individuals requesting accommodation shall contact the District ADA/504 Coordinator for assistance and guidance. Accommodations may include, but are not limited to, the following considerations:

Effective communication, use of power driven mobility devices, event sales ticket accommodations, use of service animals, and companion seating at events.

Individuals who require special assistance are encouraged to call the school prior to visiting or prior to the event to ensure that accommodations are in place for their arrival.  You may also email communications@knox.kyschools.us with your name, event you will be attending, event date, and any accommodations that are required.  We ask that you provide this information at least two days in advance to assist us in planning.
