GR Hampton Elementary Return to In-Person

We would like to welcome our cougar family back together on March 8. If your child will be joining us for Learning@School all five days a week, we want to remind you of the procedures and daily routines that we will be following.

Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where our students can learn and our staff can teach and support.

PROCEDURES:

-We will begin receiving students at 7:30 using the same procedures as we have all year.  Temperatures will be checked before students exit the vehicle. For students who ride the bus, temperatures will be checked before they are permitted to get on the bus.

-The school day officially begins at 7:50.  Students need to be in their classroom, ready to learn at 7:50. Students who arrive after 7:50 will be marked tardy.

-The school day officially ends at 3:15.  We will begin parent pick-ups at this time. This will continue to be in the pick-up loop by the cafeteria.  You will need to have your pick-up tag visible. Busses will be released shortly after 3:15.

-Our Save the Children program will be held from 3:00-5:00, Monday-Thursday.  If you need more information about the program, you can email dylan.messer@knox.kyschools.us or call the school and ask for Dylan Messer.

-Students may bring a bottle/container of water, as water fountains will not be available.

-Students will be required to wear masks, but will be given mask breaks throughout the day.

-Students WILL NOT need to bring their chromebooks back to school at this time.  We will collect those in May.  We would like for students to keep those at home to be available to use if school is cancelled for any reason.

-Students WILL need to return any book/packets that were sent home.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL DAY:

-Our goal is to provide as “normal” of a school day as possible while still following all safety guidelines.

-Upon arrival to school, students will get a “grab and go” breakfast that they will eat in their classroom.

-Students in grades 4-6 WILL be switching classes, but desks will be cleaned between rotations.

-Students will eat lunch in the cafeteria. Seats are marked to  provide for social distancing during lunch.  We have added additional tables to make this possible. Tables will be cleaned between each class.

-Students will be given two 15 minute recess breaks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).

-Students will have a special class time daily  (AR, Iready Math, Iready Reading, Gym, and MobyMax).  During gym class, students will have to follow social distancing guidelines.
