Inclement Weather and School Cancellation Information

Severe weather or poor road conditions can prompt the Knox County Public Schools to alter routines or daily schedules in the district. Therefore it’s a good idea to decide in advance how best to keep up with the changes, what child-care arrangements are needed, and how to adjust if school is delayed, students are released early or schools are closed. Also, please make sure your child’s school has up-to-date phone numbers and emergency contacts for your family.

I Haven’t Heard Yet.  Are We Having School?

If you have not heard any information, then proceed with the understanding that school is following the set schedule at the normal starting and ending times.  As soon as a decision is made to alter the school day the decision will be immediately communicated via the above sources.

Is Today a Non-Traditional Snow School Day?

Our official closing message will state if the day is a non-traditional (NTI) snow day.  If the message does not mention NTI, then an NTI day will not be used.  When we communicate NTI information we will include what NTI day it is and where to find the NTI information.
