The Knox County Board of Education has extended the deadline for sealed bids and amended the date of the meeting in which bids will be considered to allow additional time for surveying of the property. Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. (EST), on the 19th day of April, 2023. Bids will be considered at the regular scheduled board meeting to be held on the 27th day of April 2023, or before if possible.
The Knox County Board of Education (“Board of Education”) is requesting sealed bids for the proposed sale of the Old Lynn Camp High School athletic field located at Lynn Camp School Road, Corbin, Kentucky 40701, “as is” in its present state and condition. The Board of Education is accepting sealed bids to sell the entire property without division. All sealed bids must be submitted and clearly marked on the exterior of the envelope with “Sealed Bid Old Lynn Camp High School Athletic Field Property.” The enclosed sealed bid must be signed by the bidder and the bid must be dated and clearly state the name, address and telephone number of the bidder and contain the exact dollar amount being bid for the subject property.
To schedule site visits, contact Superintendent Jeremy Ledford at the Board of Education’s Central Office located at 200 Daniel Boone Drive, Barbourville, Kentucky 40906, or via phone at (606) 546-3157 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, prior to the time and date specified for bid submission.
Sealed bids may be mailed or hand-delivered to Superintendent Jeremy Ledford at the Board of Education’s Central Office located at 200 Daniel Boone Drive, Barbourville, Kentucky 40906. Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. (EST), on the 19th day of April, 2023. All sealed bids must be received by the time and date designated in this Request and none will be considered thereafter. The Board of Education cannot assume the responsibility for any delay in delivery because of failure of the mails or delivery services to deliver the bids on time.
The Board of Education will tabulate all bids received, meeting all specifications and conditions, and subject to all other provisions of this Request and may sell the surplus property to the best evaluated bidder(s), whichever is deemed to be in the best interest of the Board of Education.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and final approval by the Kentucky Department of Education is required.

Site Description:
PVA office shows site to be 5 acres. The deed shows two tracts with tract #1 being 6.5 acres by survey and tract #2 being vague in size and estimated to be at .5 acres for a total of +/- 7 acres. Site it almost all level and cleared. There is frontage on both Lynn Camp School Road and Football Field Lane.
Utilities on site include electricity and water, gas is available.
